Its a global platform for them to showcase, share and sell their artwork to raise money for their favourite charity or a fundraiser - on their own or collectively. As a young artist, all you have to do is create an account and upload your artwork- for example, paintings, sketches or artistic photos. This option also allows you to store your artwork, create self-portraits, make cards, posters and t-shirts, exchange messages with friends, keep an online journal, earn exciting awards and much more. 2) Opting to become a member on Artbeez offers the same benefits as a free gallery, but by becoming a paying member you can even earn some money for yourself. You choose how much money from your art sale goes to charity while the rest - as much as 80%, you get to keep ! Once your artwork has been uploaded, it will be added to our gallery, where visitors will scroll through to find pieces of art they would like to purchase.

Remember it's free to open an Artbeez Account and display art in your Artbeez Gallery. In order to become an Artbeez Artist you first need to open an Artbeez account. There are three steps to opening an account:- The first thing you will be asked to do is create a self-portrait. This is the picture that other Artbeez Artists will see when they visit your Artbeez Gallery and on Artbeez.com message boards.
- Next we need some information to open your account. You will need

- Pick a password. Remember this should be something you can remember because you will use it to login to your Artbeez Account in future.
- Tell us your date of birth so that we can tell other Artbeez Artists and users of Artbeez.com how old you are. Remember that we will only show your age and will never show anyone else your date of birth.
- Lastly you will need to enter your Grown Up's email address. It is important that you tell your Grown Up that you want to open an Artbeez Account as we will send them an email asking if them if you have their permission. If they say no, you will not be able to open your Artbeez Account. If they say yes, we will ask them to set up a login and secret password so that they can access your Artbeez Account too. Your Grown Up will also need to enter their personal details so that we can check that they are a Grown Up.
- Keep your password safe!
Except for your Grown Up we don't want anyone to change your Artbeez Gallery or your Artbeez Account without your permission so please keep your password safe. If you forget your password or you think that someone else might know what it is and would like to change it, you can do this by going into 'My Account' and clicking 'Forgotten Password'.

If your membership runs out and you do not renew it you will cease to be a Premium Artbeez Member and you will no longer be able to sell your Artwork on Artbeez.com. For more information on Membership please see section 5.1 below.
If you are a Premium Artbeez Member you can select the price that you would like to sell your Artwork for. You should include in the price the cost of sending your Artwork to a buyer. You can also select how much of the sale price you make you would like to donate to charity. You can donate anything from 20% up to the full sale price. It is a good idea to get your Grown Up's help with working out the right price as this may be difficult.
You can earn up to 80% of the sale price of any piece of your Artwork but obviously you will earn less where you choose to donate more of the sale price to charity. We will also deduct from the sale price the cost we are charged for processing the buyer's payment.
For the percentage of the sale price you choose to keep, minus the payment processing charge, you will earn vouchers from different online and high street retailers for the sale of your Artwork. We will send these to the registered adult's email address at the end of each month. Of course we cannot guarantee that you will sell Artwork that you display on Artbeez.com. Kiddizens will not provide any payment or compensation other than by way of vouchers for the sale of your Artwork or any merchandise, which uses your Artwork, and will not provide any reviews of any of the Artworks on Artbeez.com.
It is your responsibility to give potential buyers an accurate description of the Artwork you are selling and to show them what the Artwork looks like.
When someone buys your Artwork we will send your Grown Up an email to tell them. You will have 10 days from the date of this email to send the buyer the Artwork they have purchased. Remember that once a buyer has bought your Artwork you must promise to send it to them or tell us straight away that you will not send it, in which case you will need to return the money to us and we will refund the buyer. You can find their address under 'Order History' under the 'My Account' tab which only your parents can access with their own login. You should ask your Grown Up or a responsible adult to help you package your Artwork to send to the buyer. - Buying Artwork

How to transfer your artwork to the computer?
Unless your artwork has been created digitally, in order to get your artwork from the easel/drawing table on to a computer, you need to translate it into a digital file. You can do that either by (a) Photographing it or (b) Scanning it. The choice will depend upon the size or type of artwork and the availability of a scanner or camera.
Note: You want the best and trust possible representation of your artwork especially if you are interested in selling it. In general to give you flexibility to use your images for selling (original or digital version) and printing on cards, t-shirts or other merchandize it is best to have a high resolution digital version of your artwork from the very start.
- Photographing your artwork: When photographing art, it is important that the colours are as similar to the original as possible and that the image is sharply in focus. But be prepared that images published on the web do not look the same on all monitors as each monitor may have its own colour or resolution setting. So the best you can do is make sure that the darkest details of your art are visible and the brightest parts are not faded into whiteness.
- You can use a smartphone (with at least 2 megapixel capacity) to photograph the artwork but for best results use a camera fitted with Zeiss or Nikon optics.
- To make sure you do not distort or skew the out edges, do not stand too close rather zoom in on it instead.
- Remove any glass protection from top if possible before taking the photograph
- Do not use direct flash as it will give unwanted reflections. The best way to avoid that would be to photograph in ample natural light environment.
These graphic representations of how to position the artwork and the camera are courtesy of Max Magnus Norman.
Note: Do not digitally manipulate your pictures if you plan to sell the print as the buyer will not be happy to receive a picture different from what he saw on the website and has the right to return it.
- Scanning your artwork: For any artwork that is small enough and flat, you could scan it. You will need a flat bed scanner installed and connected to a computer (you can also save to a memory stick from the scanner and then transfer it to the computer). Ideally you should have access to a graphics art quality scanner for best results. Before use, make sure the scanner glass is clean. Then put the artwork face down on the glass ensuring that the print area is lined well along the edges of the glass to avoid getting a skewed scan image.
You should aim to scan at higher resolutions - 200dpi or above at least and if scanning for printing, at 300dpi. Once scanned you may need to straighten off-square scans so they do not look crooked on your gallery or the public viewing gallery. You can do that using the basic image editor on your computer such as iPhoto or Windows Photo Gallery (Microsoft's iPhoto version)
Note: Do not retouch the scanned image in Photoshop or any other Image editing software if you plan to sell the original artwork as the buyer will not be happy to receive an artwork different from what he saw on the website and may return it.
How to choose the File Format?
You can choose to save and upload your images with the following
formats:
- JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) pronounced “jay-peg is the most commonly used format. It support the full range of colours and compresses images without losing apparent image quality. This would be the recommended format for most images or photographs.
- GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) pronounced “jif. This format is good for simple graphics with very limited color range like cartoon, doodles or line drawings.
- PNG (Portable Network Graphics) pronounced “ping combines the characteristics of JPEG and GIF. It supports the full range like JPEG but does not compress as efficiently for the same level of apparent quality.
They are required to have a PayPal I.D. or create a PayPal account as part of the buying process.
Identify what is your USP (Unique Selling Point) Price of any artwork is based upon its uniqueness and visual appeal. Novelty of your artistic characteristics that set you apart in a positive way are definitely something that any art collector would give you credit for.
Be realistic You must be able to assess your art objectively to understand and evaluate its quality in relation to other artists and all other art in general. The more aware you are about what other artists (of your age or older) are creating around the world, the better equipped you will be to see your work in that context and price it realistically.
Be competitive It is important to look at prices of comparable artwork. Look for examples of similar artworks by freelancers and fine artists and use it as benchmark. This is especially important when you start on your own for the first time and eventually you will build your own track record and can depend upon your own sales histories when pricing later works.
Start cheap and build a following If it advisable to start with low prices and gradually build a fan base with rack record of lots of sales. The more you sell the more credible and more attractive you become for the next buyer. And the more you sell the more you can raise for your favorite charity. This will give you the confidence in your works and with time you will be able to increase the prices having gained the knowledge of what your art can be worth!
Clear and Consistent pricing structure If you plan to sell more than one artwork, base your price according to the same basic principals that you price the rest of your artwork so that similar works of art have similar prices. If you want to be recognized and establish a reputation it is important to follow certain base guidelines to show consistency in the prices throughout your entire collection. This delivers a clear and credible message to anyone wanting to buy your artworks.
Time and material Do keep in mind the cost of materials and the amount of time you needed to create the artwork. Although there is no direct correlation between the amount of time and material spent and the price of any artwork, where there is clearly significant cost involved you would want to factor that into your asking price. As you start to have an art collector fan base, you will be able to account for your costs easily as compared to the beginning of your art career.
Seek opinion Whenever possible conduct an informal survey by asking parents, other adults, friends or those most interested in your art how much they think it should sell for. Put together as many people's opinion to get a general idea of what you should aim for. As you become better and better known, a brand name, so to speak, your art begins to merit premium pricing, or pricing beyond that of your contemporaries.
What you are required to do depends upon of the 'Type' of artwork you sell.
